Description

Persea sessilis (also called 'Sessile Persea', among many other common names) is a species of evergreen tree native to Costa Rica and Panama. It can reach heights of up to 30 meters and has a trunk diameter of up to 40 cm. It is found in tropical lowland and montane rainforests, as well as in secondary forests.

Persea sessilis is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. It is also used in traditional Chinese medicine for treating fever, headaches, and abdominal pain.
