Persea caesia (also called Black Bay, and California Bay, among many other common names) is a species of evergreen tree native to the western United States. It typically grows to a height of 10–15 m (33–49 ft) and has a broad, rounded crown. It is found in wet and dry forests, as well as in swamps and marshes.
