Ocotea terciopelo (also called Ocotea terciopelo, among many other common names) is a species of plant in the Lauraceae family. It is native to Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru. It is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Ocotea terciopelo is a small, white or yellowish-white flower with four petals. The seed is small and black, and the seedlings are small and green.
Cultivation and Propagation
Ocotea terciopelo can be propagated by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained potting mix and kept moist.
