Description
Ocotea douradensis (also called Dourado Ocotea, among many other common names) is an evergreen shrub or small tree with a dense, upright habit. It is native to South America and grows in moist forests and along streams. It has glossy, dark green leaves and fragrant, yellow-green flowers.
Cultivation and Propagation
Ocotea douradensis is a slow-growing evergreen shrub that can reach up to 3 meters in height. It prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Propagation is by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring in a warm, sunny spot and kept moist until germination. Cuttings should be taken in late spring or early summer and rooted in a pot of moist, well-drained soil.

Ocotea douradensis is native to Brazil and is found in the states of Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rondônia, Roraima, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, and Tocantins.
