Description
Cryptocarya putida (also called Putid Laurel, among many other common names) is a small evergreen tree or shrub with a dense, rounded crown and a smooth, grey bark. It is native to Madagascar and grows in humid forests, in ravines and on rocky slopes.

It is a fast-growing species and can be propagated from seed. The seeds should be sown in a well-drained soil mix and kept moist. Germination usually takes place within 4-6 weeks. Once the seedlings have developed a few sets of leaves, they can be transplanted into individual containers.
