Description
Beilschmiedia collina (also called Hill Beilschmiedia, Hill Beilschmiedia, and Hill Beilschmiedia among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree with small, oval-shaped, dark green leaves. It is native to Southeast Asia and is found in open woodlands, grasslands, and along roadsides.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Beilschmiedia collina has small, white flowers with yellow anthers. Its seeds are small, black and shiny, and its seedlings are small and slender.
Cultivation and Propagation
Beilschmiedia collina is a medium-sized tree, growing to a height of 10-20 metres. It is found in tropical and subtropical rainforests, from sea level to an altitude of 1,500 metres. It is propagated from seed, which should be sown in a well-drained, light soil mix and kept moist. The seedlings should be kept in a warm, humid environment and should be transplanted when they reach a height of 10-15 cm.
