Description
Arbusculohypopterygium arbuscula (also called Arbuscula, among many other common names) is a species of liverwort that is found in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. It has a thallus that is up to 2 cm long and is composed of a single row of cells. It is found in moist, shady areas, such as in forests, on rocks, and in mossy areas.
Uses & Benefits
Arbusculohypopterygium arbuscula is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and terrariums. It is also used to create a naturalistic look in aquariums.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Arbusculohypopterygium arbuscula has small, yellow flowers with four petals. The seeds are small and round, and the seedlings have two, heart-shaped leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Arbusculohypopterygium arbuscula is a small, cushion-forming moss that is found in tropical and subtropical regions. It is propagated by spores, which are released from the sporophytes. The spores can be collected and sown on a moist medium such as a soil-peat mixture. The moss can also be propagated by division of the cushion-forming plants. The plants should be divided into small clumps and then transplanted into a moist, shady location.
Where to Find Arbusculohypopterygium arbuscula
