Description
Monophyllaea glabra (also called 'Smooth-Leaved Monophyllaea', among many other common names) is a small, herbaceous, perennial plant native to South America. It has a single, smooth, oblong-shaped leaf and produces small white flowers. It grows in moist, shady areas, such as in the understory of tropical forests.

Monophyllaea glabra has small, yellow flowers with five petals and yellow anthers. The seeds are small, black and glossy. The seedlings are slender with long, narrow leaves.
Where to Find Monophyllaea glabra
Monophyllaea glabra is native to South Africa, and can be found in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and Limpopo provinces.
