Description
Aeschynanthus superbus (also called Superb Lipstick Plant, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Gesneriaceae. It is a small, evergreen shrub with glossy, ovate leaves and clusters of red, tubular flowers. It is native to India and is found in tropical forests and rainforests at elevations of up to 1,000 meters.

Aeschynanthus superbus has bright white flowers with long, tubular petals. The seeds are small, black and round. The seedlings have small, oval-shaped leaves and are light green in color.
Cultivation and Propagation
Aeschynanthus superbus is an evergreen, epiphytic, perennial climber. It is grown for its attractive, glossy, dark green leaves and its profuse, tubular, red flowers. It can be grown in hanging baskets or as a climber on a trellis. It prefers a bright, warm position with partial shade and a well-drained, humus-rich, moist soil. Propagate from cuttings in spring or summer.
