Description
Aeschynanthus pergracilis (also called Slender Flame Vine, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the Gesneriaceae family. It is native to tropical regions of Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. It is an evergreen climber with small, bright green leaves and small, red flowers. It is found in tropical and subtropical forests, as well as in disturbed habitats.
Cultivation and Propagation
Aeschynanthus pergracilis is an evergreen, epiphytic, perennial climber. It is grown for its attractive, glossy, dark green leaves and its profuse, tubular, red flowers. It can be grown in hanging baskets or as a climber on a trellis. It prefers a bright, warm position with partial shade and a well-drained, humus-rich, moist soil. Propagate from cuttings in spring or summer.
