Description
Macrocarpaea huamantanga (also called Huamantanga, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Gesneriaceae. It is a small shrub with ovate-lanceolate leaves and yellow flowers. It is native to Peru and grows in cloud forests at elevations of 1,800–2,400 metres (5,900–7,900 ft) above sea level.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Macrocarpaea huamantanga has white flowers with yellow-green stripes and a yellow center. The flowers are about 1 cm in diameter and have 5 petals. The seed is a small, round, black seed about 1 mm in diameter. The seedlings are small, round, and dark green in color.
