Description

Fagus grandifolia (also called American beech, among many other common names) is a deciduous tree native to eastern North America. It grows to a height of 20-30 m and has a trunk diameter of up to 1.5 m. Its leaves are ovate to elliptic, with a length of 5-10 cm and a width of 2-4 cm. It is found in temperate forests and woodlands.
