Description

Castanopsis tessellata (also called Tessellated Oak, among many other common names) is a species of evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia. It grows up to 20 meters tall and has a trunk diameter of up to 1 meter. Its leaves are oblong-elliptic in shape and its fruits are ovoid-globose drupes.
