Description
Castanopsis lanceifolia (also called Lance-leaved Chinquapin, among many other common names) is a species of evergreen tree in the beech family. It is native to western North America, where it is found in the states of California, Oregon, and Washington. It grows in forests at elevations of 0–2,000 metres (0–6,600 ft).
