Castanopsis cerebrina (also called Chinese Evergreen Chestnut, among many other common names) is a species of evergreen tree in the Fagaceae family. It is native to East Asia and is found in China, Japan, and Taiwan. It typically grows in temperate forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
