Description
Vachellia valida (also called Acacia valida, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree native to the tropical forests of Central and South America. It has a rounded crown and a short trunk, with smooth, greyish bark. Its leaves are alternate, oblong-lanceolate, dark green in color, and up to 8 cm long. It is found in the tropical forests of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela.

Vachellia valida has small, yellow flowers, which are followed by long, thin, flat seed pods. The seeds are small and black, and the seedlings have long, thin stems with small, oval-shaped leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Vachellia valida is a perennial shrub that can be propagated from cuttings or by division. Cuttings should be taken in late spring or early summer and planted in moist, well-draining soil.
