Description
Oxytropis nigrescens (also called 'Black Oxytropis', 'Black velvet-pod', 'Black velvetpod', 'Velvet-pod', 'Velvetpod' among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the legume family Fabaceae. It is native to the western United States. It grows in alpine and subalpine meadows, alpine and subalpine tundra, and open rocky slopes.
