Description
Oxytropis maydelliana (also called 'Alpine locoweed', 'Alpine Oxytropis', 'Maydell's Oxytropis', 'Maydell's locoweed', 'Maydell's velvet-pod', 'Maydell's velvetpod', 'Velvet-pod', 'Velvetpod' among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the legume family Fabaceae. It is native to the western United States, Canada, and Alaska. It grows in alpine and subalpine meadows, alpine and subalpine tundra, and open rocky slopes.
