Description
Lupinus popayanensis (also called Popayan Lupine, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the Andes of Colombia. It grows in high-altitude grasslands, and is characterized by its blue-green leaves and yellow flowers.

Lupinus popayanensis has bright blue flowers that grow in clusters. The seeds are small, dark brown, and have a hard outer coating. The seedlings are small, with thin, light green leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Lupinus popayanensis can be propagated by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in early spring in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and plant them out in the summer. Cuttings of half-ripe wood, 5 - 8cm with a heel, July/August in a frame. Good percentage.
