Lupinus chocontensis - Uses, Benefits & Common Names

Lupinus chocontensis (also called Chocó Lupine, among many other common names) is an evergreen shrub, growing up to 1.5 m tall. It is native to Colombia and Ecuador, and is found in tropical and subtropical moist montane forests.

Lupinus chocontensis is used as an ornamental plant, for erosion control, and as a source of forage for livestock.

Lupinus chocontensis has blue-violet flowers with five petals. The seeds are small, dark brown and oval-shaped. The seedlings are small and have two opposite leaves.
