Lupinus chipaquensis - Uses, Benefits & Common Names

Lupinus chipaquensis (also called Chipaque lupine, among many other common names) is an annual herb that grows up to 1 m tall. It is native to Colombia, and is found in dry, open habitats such as rocky slopes and grasslands.

Lupinus chipaquensis is used as an ornamental plant, for erosion control, and as a source of forage for livestock.

Lupinus chipaquensis has blue-violet flowers with five petals. The seeds are small, dark brown and oval-shaped. The seedlings are small and have two opposite leaves.
