Description
Eriocaulon palustre (also called 'Pond Pipewort', among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Eriocaulaceae. It is native to North and South America, and typically grows in moist, shady places such as marshes, swamps, and along streams. It has a creeping, mat-forming habit, with small, white, daisy-like flowers and narrow, grass-like leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Eriocaulon palustre can be propagated by division of the rhizomes or by sowing the seeds. The rhizomes should be divided in spring or early summer. The seeds should be sown in a well-drained soil in a sunny location. The seedlings should be thinned out when they are large enough to handle, and should be transplanted when they are large enough to be handled easily.
