Vaccinium malacothrix (also called desert huckleberry, among many other common names) is a small evergreen shrub native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It has small, leathery leaves and white flowers. The shrub produces edible red berries. It grows in dry, rocky soils and is often found in desert scrublands.
