Oreanthes hypogaeus (also called Underground oreanthes, among many other common names) is a species of shrub native to Central and South America. It is an evergreen shrub with lanceolate leaves that are typically 10–20 cm long and 2–3 cm wide. It is found in forests, thickets, and along streams in tropical and subtropical regions.
