Ephedra arenicola (also called Joint-Pine, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Ephedraceae. It is native to Central and South America. It is an evergreen shrub, typically growing to a height of 0.3–1 m (1–3 ft). It is found in tropical and subtropical deserts, and prefers dry, sandy habitats.
