Description
Dennstaedtia wilfordii (also called Wilford's Hayscented Fern, among many other common names) is a deciduous fern native to Europe, Asia, and North America. It is typically found in moist forests, thickets, and along streams. It has a creeping rhizome and lanceolate-ovate, light green fronds.
Cultivation and Propagation
Dennstaedtia wilfordii is a hardy, deciduous fern that is easy to propagate and cultivate. It prefers moist, well-drained soils in partial shade and can tolerate full sun if the soil is kept moist. Propagation is best done by division of the rhizomes in early spring or by spore sowing in late summer. It is also possible to propagate from cuttings of the fronds.
