Description

Combretum atropurpureum (also called Purple Combretum, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree native to tropical regions of Africa and Asia. It has a rounded crown and a short trunk, and grows to a height of up to 10 m. Its leaves are alternate, simple, and oblong-ovate, with a smooth margin. It prefers sandy soils in coastal areas and is often found in mangroves.
