Acanthophyllum caespitosum (also called 'Tufted Acanthophyllum', among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the Mediterranean region. It has a woody rootstock and grows to a height of 30-50 cm. Its leaves are linear and its flowers are white, pink or purple and are borne in a capitulum.

Acanthophyllum caespitosum is used in traditional medicine to treat digestive problems, as well as to reduce inflammation and fever. It is also used as an ornamental plant in gardens and can be used as a ground cover.

Plant them out in the spring.
