Description
Capparis sarmentosa (also called 'Sarmentose Caper', among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree native to India, Sri Lanka, and other parts of Southeast Asia. It has a rounded, spreading habit and grows to a height of 3-5 m. Its leaves are alternate, simple, and oblong-lanceolate in shape. It is found in open woodlands, scrubland, and dry grasslands.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Capparis sarmentosa has small, white flowers with yellow centers. The seeds are small, black and round. The seedlings are small and delicate.
