Gymnocalycium pazoutianum (also called Pazout's moon cactus, among many other common names) is a species of cactus native to South America. It has a globose body, up to 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter, with 8 to 12 ribs and short spines. It is found in dry, rocky habitats in Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay.
Cultivation and Propagation
Gymnocalycium pazoutianum is a fast-growing, semi-succulent, perennial climber that can be propagated by cuttings. It prefers well-drained soil and full sun or partial shade. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate temperatures down to 0°F (-18°C). The stems can be cut back in late winter to encourage new growth.
