Description
Anomobryum pellucidum (also called Pellucid moss, among many other common names) is a species of moss in the family Anomobryaceae. It is a small, tufted moss with stems up to 5 cm long. It has a cosmopolitan distribution, occurring in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, and Australia. It is found in a variety of habitats, including grasslands, open woodlands, and disturbed areas.
Uses & Benefits
Anomobryum pellucidum is used as an ornamental plant, for erosion control, and as a ground cover. It is also used in landscaping and as a soil stabilizer.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Anomobryum pellucidum has small, yellowish-green flowers that are clustered in the axils of the leaves. Its seeds are small, round and black. The seedlings are small and have a single pair of leaves.
