Description
Puya glareosa (also called Andean Puya, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the Bromeliaceae family. It is native to the Andes of Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia. It grows in rocky, grassy slopes, and in the paramo and puna of the Andes, between 3,000 and 4,500 meters of elevation.

The flower of Puya glareosa is a small, yellow, bell-shaped flower. The seed is a small, black, oblong seed. The seedlings are small, with a single stem and small, light green leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Puya glareosa is a small, evergreen shrub, growing to a height of 2-3 feet. It is best grown in a sunny location and in well-drained soil. Propagation is by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring or early summer in a sunny location. Cuttings should be taken in late summer or early autumn.
