Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flowers of Tournefortia tacarcunensis are white or pale pink and have a bell-shaped corolla. The seeds are small, black and round-shaped. The seedlings have short, stout stems and small, round-shaped leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Tournefortia tacarcunensis is a shrub or small tree that grows in the tropical dry forests of Central America. It can be propagated from cuttings, seeds, or air-layering. Cuttings should be taken from semi-hardwood branches, and should be treated with a rooting hormone before planting. Seeds should be sown in a well-draining soil mix and kept moist until germination. Air-layering can be done by wrapping a branch in moist sphagnum moss and covering it with plastic wrap. Once the roots have developed, the branch can be cut and planted.
Where to Find Tournefortia tacarcunensis
