Description

Bartramia laevisphaera (also called 'Smooth-spored Hair-grass', among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Europe, Asia and North America. It grows in meadows, grasslands, and open woodlands. It has a tufted habit with narrow, linear leaves that are up to 5 cm long. The flower heads are up to 15 cm long and are composed of many spikelets.

Bartramia laevisphaera is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a ground cover. It is also used for erosion control and as a soil stabilizer.
