Sphaeranthus oppositifolius (also called Opposite-leaved Sphaeranthus, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It has a woody base and grows up to 30 cm tall. Its leaves are opposite, ovate-lanceolate, and up to 5 cm long. The flowers are white and borne in heads.
