Description
Orbivestus catumbensis (also called Catumbi orbivestus, among many other common names) is a species of flowering shrub native to Brazil. It typically grows to a height of 1-2 m and has lanceolate leaves and white flowers. It is found in tropical and subtropical moist montane forests.

Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Orbivestus catumbensis is a white or yellowish-white, star-shaped flower with five petals. The seed is a small, black, rounded seed. The seedlings are small, oval-shaped leaves with a pointed tip.
Cultivation and Propagation
Orbivestus catumbensis can be propagated by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring in a cold frame or in a seedbed outdoors. When large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter. Plant them out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer, after the last expected frosts. Division in spring or autumn. Larger clumps can be replanted direct into their permanent positions, though it is best to pot up smaller clumps and grow them on in a cold frame until they are rooting well. Plant them out in the spring.
