Description

Lessingianthus ammophilus (also called Sandhill Daisy, among many other common names) is a perennial herb native to the sandhills of North Carolina and South Carolina. It has a woody base and grows to a height of 10-30 cm. Its leaves are alternate, linear to lanceolate, and have a hairy texture. It has yellow flower heads with white rays and a yellow center. It grows in sandy soils and is found in dry, open woods and sandy areas.
