Cousinia alpestris (also called Alpine Cousinia, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Iran. It has a woody stem and grows up to 1 meter tall. Its leaves are ovate, with a serrated margin and a pointed apex. It grows in open grasslands and in rocky areas in the Alborz and Zagros mountains.
