Description

Carduus arvaticus (also called Alpine Thistle, among many other common names) is an herbaceous perennial plant from the Asteraceae family. It has a rosette of spiny leaves, and produces yellow flower heads in the summer. It is native to the mountains of Europe, and is found in grasslands, meadows and open woodlands.
