Cultivation and Propagation

Maianthemum formosanum is a tropical plant that grows best in partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Propagation is usually done by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in a moist, well-draining soil mix and kept warm and moist until germination occurs. Division should be done in the spring or fall when the plant is actively growing. Carefully dig up the plant and divide the roots into smaller sections. Replant the divisions in a moist soil mix and keep the soil moist until the divisions have taken root.
