Description

Geonoma maxima (also called Giant Geonoma, among many other common names) is a species of palm native to the Caribbean islands of Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Lesser Antilles. It is a large palm, growing to 15 m tall, with a single trunk and pinnate leaves. It is found in tropical moist lowland forests and swamps.
