Description
Gaussia gomez-pompae (also called Gomez-Pompae Palm, among many other common names) is a species of palm native to Central America, found in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. It is found in moist montane forests, often in shady locations, at elevations of 500–1,500 m.
Uses & Benefits
Gaussia gomez-pompae has been used in traditional medicine to treat fever, rheumatism, and stomach ailments. It is also used as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks.
