Coccothrinax argentata (also called Silver Palm, among many other common names) is a palm native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas. It is a single-stemmed palm with long, narrow leaves and can grow up to 15 meters in height. It prefers moist soil and is often found in wetland habitats.

Cultivation and Propagation

Coccothrinax argentata is a slow-growing, evergreen palm native to the Caribbean. It prefers moist, sandy soils and is best grown in full sun. Propagation is usually done by seed, which should be planted in the spring after the last frost. The seed should be planted 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep and should be kept moist until germination occurs. Once established, Coccothrinax argentata requires little maintenance.
