Description

Calamus modestus (also called Modest Rattan, among many other common names) is a species of climbing palm native to tropical Africa. It is a slender, climbing palm with a smooth, grey stem and a crown of up to 20 leaves. The leaves are up to 2 m long and are divided into many narrow leaflets. The plant is found in tropical forests, woodlands, and savannas.
