Calamus insularis is a low-growing, terrestrial palm that grows in a clump form. It can be propagated by division or by seed. To propagate by division, carefully separate the offsets from the mother plant and replant them in a well-draining potting mix. To propagate by seed, sow the seeds in a well-draining potting mix and keep them moist. The plants prefer partial shade and should be watered regularly.
