Description

Calamus andamanicus (also called Andaman Rattan, among many other common names) is a species of rattan palm native to tropical regions of Asia, from India and Sri Lanka east to Indonesia and the Philippines. It is a climbing palm growing to 30 m tall, with stems up to 5 cm diameter. It grows in lowland and montane rainforests, usually near rivers and streams.
