Description
Astrocaryum perangustatum (also called 'Pindo Palm', among many other common names) is a species of palm tree native to tropical South America. It has a single trunk, up to 10 m tall, with a diameter of up to 20 cm. Its leaves are pinnate, up to 2 m long, with leaflets up to 40 cm long. It is found in wet lowland forests, as well as in seasonally flooded areas.
