Description

Sciodaphyllum planchonianum (also called Planchon's Sciodaphyllum, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Arecaceae. It is a shrub or small tree, typically growing up to 10 m tall. It is native to Central America and South America, where it is found in lowland and montane forests. It is a common species in the understory of tropical moist forests.
