Description
Anthurium tarapotense (also called Tarapoto Anthurium, among many other common names) is an evergreen perennial that grows up to 1 m tall. It is native to Peru, where it is found in moist, well-drained soils in tropical forests. It prefers partial shade to full shade.

Anthurium tarapotense has a bright red flower with a long spadix and a white spathe. Its seeds are small, black and oval-shaped. The seedlings are small and have a single, oval-shaped leaf.

Anthurium tarapotense can be propagated by division or stem cuttings. Division should be done in spring or early summer, and the divisions should be planted in a well-drained potting mix. Stem cuttings should be taken in late spring or early summer and rooted in a moist potting mix.
