Description

Ilex melanophylla (also called Black-leaf holly, among many other common names) is a species of evergreen shrub or small tree in the Aquifoliaceae family. It is native to China and is found in forests, thickets, and along streams. It has oblong-ovate leaves which are glossy black on the upper surface and yellowish-green on the lower surface.
